The story so far
Floated in July 2019, the concept of a Men’s Shed in South Arm to serve the Peninsula quickly gained momentum with a survey indicating strong community need and support. Backed by the South Arm Peninsula Residents’ Association Inc (SAPRA), the South Arm Peninsula Men’s Shed Inc was formed in late 2019 and work began on many fronts.

We're on a mission to raise as much as we can in the next two months in time for a grant application that is dollar for dollar. That means whatever we have in the bank when we apply, the grant will match if we're successful!

Support, site, design and funding
Further strong support was received from the South Arm Community Pharmacy, RSL Sub-Branch, our local elected members and many others familiar with the area.
Positive site and process discussions are ongoing with Clarence City Council staff and the Aldermen were unanimous in support of the Shed (12th October 2020).
Shed designs are now well underway with a final design confirmed by the Committee and Members and submitted to Council for a Development Application.
Now the fun really begins with the garnering the funds to see our Shed rise from the ground and become an integral part of the community hub homed in the Calverton Oval precinct.
